Top 17

In an ode to my 17 followers (upgraded from 15, woo!) I'll go ahead and do a top 17 of things lately. My posting has been a little random with long gaps in posts. So here goes.

17. The weather is getting nicer. As an act of rebellion against any colder weather, I packed up the majority of my winter clothes and ESPECIALLY my snow boots to be sent down to Midland this weekend. Sorry weather man, I can no longer dress appropriately for crappy weather so you're just gonna have to call it off.

16. I'm making some headway on my thesis. I sent out my 2nd round of surveys to about 180 people and with in 24 hours I had 40 responses. Heaven help the people who don't return them by the due date because you know I am going to call them.

15. I have 1/2 of my invitations ready to go out. It feels significant because they take so long to put together. Mom has to write the addresses, I have to emboss them with the return addresses, then I have to put bows on the invitations, put them in the envelope, include the reception card, the RSVP card, put the return address on the RSVP and put a stamp on both the RSVP and the actual invitation. It's a miracle that a $0.44 stamp will send all of that.

14. I am saving on shipping. Although Matt insisted that we put a stamp on the RSVP, and so help me if you get one my invitations you better RSVP! Or I'm sending you a $0.44 invoice. through email of course because otherwise that wouldn't make much sense.

13. I get to see Matt this weekend. Only for one night, but it will be good to see him. He's going to a "guys" baby shower where all they do is bring diapers and hang out. This is a genius idea. Takes the awkward out for the guys AND they get to hang out, AND help the future parents-to-be get a good stock of diapers before the baby comes. Genius.

12. Going to see Beauty and the Beast with my mom this weekend. Should be a great time. I got a new dress for it. It has subtle leopard print. Get it? Beast? Come on.

11. I got all of my dresses for all the upcoming events for the wedding. There's like 5 parties before the actual party. Aren't weddings fun?

10. I won an award for the research symposium. It doesn't matter that it was by default because I was the only one who participated, the important thing is that I won! No bursar payment for me FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER. That's a good way to go out. Not paying the bursar bill. I accept.

9. Joe's basketball season ended recently. That doesn't make me happy at all, but he played awesome in those last games. I could not have been more proud. I'm not sure that I am proud of the fact that we are "that family" at the games. I hope he feels our support instead of utter humiliation.

8. I am getting closer to my health goals. For obvious reasons that is exciting.

7. I have been spending more time with my best friend lately. That has been nice. I am going to miss her like crazy when I move. Thank goodness Midland has an airport.

6. I have been getting a lot of really great support for the wedding. A lot of people really seem to want to be involved and help out. That's fantastic because I just can't do much other than my thesis right now.

5. I am really only stressed about 1 issue with the wedding these days. Other than that I am cool as a cucumber (what the heck does this saying even mean???).

4. Matt has been helping a lot with the wedding lately. Took care of the honey moon, special ordered unity candles, made some payments, ordered his groomsman gifts, all in all just good stuff.

3. Matt has been working on our garden for this spring/summer. It's warmer down there so they can get started a little earlier. I can not wait to have our own produce. I hope that my visions for our garden come true and that our tomatoes don't turn out to look like cherry tomatoes. And I hope that Pistol doesn't dig it all up. We're even trying to grow herbs!

2. Matt sent me flowers on Tuesday. It was exactly what I needed. I'm a little over whelmed lately. Some good prayer and a good attitude and I will get through it all. (I'm also praying for the latter).

1. I have been waking up every morning. I am free. I am Saved. I am more blessed than I ever deserve to be.

Take care!
