Movie Review: Noah

I told you about "Date Night," our new Thursday night tradition. This time we decided to check out the restaurant Whiskey Cake and go see the movie Noah. The previews made it look pretty cool, so why not? It was that or Divergent and I told Matt I had to make sure my friend hadn't seen Divergent before I could commit. By the time I told him they had already seen it twice he was already checking out for Noah when he ordered the tickets online.

So how was it?

I told my friends: "Well, if you're looking for a movie about a flood and a guy who happened to be named Noah, then you're good. If you're looking for any level of biblical accuracy then it's not the movie for you."

I have to say... save your money. I don't know what was going on with the production of this film but there were so many random things thrown in there for reasons I cannot understand. The story of Noah is already a cool story on it's own so all of the strange additions and twists made no sense to me. I'm not filmmaker but I re-read the story of Noah (out of the actual Bible) last night and I kept thinking of other really cool ways that would have made the movie really entertaining without all the nonsense. RUSSELL CROWE WAS PLAYING NOAH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! HOW COULD YOU GO WRONG?! AND they had him sing in a small part which was sort of hilarious to me after the disaster that was Les Miserables for poor Russ.

Some blogger who I cannot vouch for as a human being because I don't know of his work or personal positions on things (but I think he is a famous blogger) did do a synopsis that I was pretty much completely in agreement with which you can find here.

Basically this is a really short blog post because I am really bummed about how this turned out and I don't want you to be bummed too. Rotten Tomatoes gives it 75% positive rating. Rotten Tomatoes lies.
